Dr. Annette White
I'd like to share a little bit about my "why" and what motivated me to become a life coach.
While I was finishing my doctoral degree, four things arrived at the same time. My mother was dying of lung cancer. My marriage was ending. A suspected spinal tumor put my own health in question. And the dissertation deadline did not move for any of it.
My mother passed two months before I walked across the graduation stage. I carried her with me that day. Grief in one hand. Gratitude in the other.
The grace I had been studying as theology became the grace I needed to survive. That season is where this work was born.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9 · The verse that became my anthem in the season grace stopped being theory and started being my supply.
The life skills I was studying for my dissertation became the skills I was using to stay upright. Emotional intelligence. Adaptability. Problem-solving. Self-management. Then the soft skills layered on top. Resilience. Communication. Conflict resolution. Time management.
These were not academic concepts. They were how I made it through the week. They are also why I built this practice the way I did. The frameworks I teach are the frameworks I used.
